“Porky’s” is a 1981 Canadian-American coming-of-age comedy film about a group of high school friends in the 1950s. The movie revolves around the group’s misadventures as they try to lose their virginity and prank their school’s despotic principal. The boys frequent a seedy bar called “Porky’s,” run by a corrupt and lecherous owner, where they are constantly ridiculed and fleeced of their money. One of the boys, Pee Wee, is particularly mistreated, and the group seeks revenge. The movie’s controversial humor includes crude sexual jokes, ethnic and homophobic slurs, and nudity. Despite the controversy, the film was a commercial success and spawned two sequels.
