The Los Angeles Chargers are a professional American football team based in Los Angeles, California. They were founded in 1960 as the Los Angeles Chargers and played in the American Football League (AFL) before merging with the National Football League (NFL) in 1970, after their 1961 move to San Diego and playing as the San Diego Chargers for 56 seasons. In 2017 the team relocated back to Los Angeles, becoming the Los Angeles Chargers once again. The team has had some success over the years, including multiple playoff appearances and one AFC championship, but has not won a Super Bowl championship to date. The Chargers play their home games at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
