Cooper Black by Linotype is a font based on the logo from the music group Traffic.

Cooper is a playful, rounded serif typeface designed by Oswald Bruce Cooper in 1921. Known for its friendly and approachable appearance, Cooper features soft, rounded edges and wide proportions, making it highly legible and easy to read. Its charming, informal style has made it popular for advertising, signage, and display purposes. The font’s distinctive look blends traditional serif elements with a more casual, modern feel, giving it a unique and inviting character. Various versions of Cooper have been created over the years, including Cooper Black, which became particularly famous for its bold, retro appeal.

Traffic was an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 1967. The band’s original lineup included Steve Winwood (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Jim Capaldi (drums, vocals), Dave Mason (guitar, vocals), and Chris Wood (saxophone, flute). They are known for their unique blend of rock, folk, jazz, and psychedelic music, as well as their intricate instrumentation and improvisational style. Traffic released several acclaimed albums in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including “Mr. Fantasy,” “Traffic,” and “John Barleycorn Must Die.” The band underwent several lineup changes throughout their career, with Winwood being the only constant member. Despite their relatively short career, Traffic had a significant influence on the development of progressive rock and jam band music, and are regarded as one of the most important bands of the 1960s. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
