“Pearl” is the fourth and final studio album by American rock singer Janis Joplin, released in 1971, after her untimely death at the age of 27. The album was produced by Paul A. Rothchild and features Joplin’s powerful and soulful vocals, backed by the Full Tilt Boogie Band. “Pearl” includes some of Joplin’s most iconic and beloved songs, such as “Me and Bobby McGee”, “Mercedes Benz”, and “Cry Baby”. The album showcases Joplin’s ability to convey raw emotion and vulnerability through her music, as well as her impressive range as a vocalist. “Pearl” was a critical and commercial success, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time. It was also posthumously certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA in 2001.
